No Skulls ;)

Hi all, and yep you read it right, No skulls, and Im not feeling ill. thought maybe I should try something that is not quite so 'Dark' lol
I thought I would do an ATC for a blog friend so I thought I would also do a matching tag to go with it.I just started too play about with the colours but already had the butterfly idea in my mind.I thought I would do a second entry in to Simon Says Stamp And Show where the challenge is depth of distress.
I used the Tim distress pads to colour the back grounds, added some of his tape down the edges. The sentiment is from one of the Dylusions stamp sets. It says 'Until you spread your wings you have no idea how far you'll fly'
I thought it was quite fitting with the butterflys.
The butterflys are one of Tims Dies and I coloured with distress ink and stamped with the papillion text stamp and then used the enamel technique to make them look a little shabby.
to finish them of I have embellished with a Wendy Vechi adornment, a key and a pen nib, for the atc I just used the pen nib.

  7. Gorgeous Mark! The colours caught my eye, when I saw the post on my list, so I had to come and see what you'd been making. Love these very much. The texture is great and I like the combination of pattern/text. The colours... wow - just beautiful. I do love yellows with aqua blues. I like butterflies quite a lot too, so these are definitely a hit with me, skulls or not!

  14. love the tag and the matching ATC, love the colours, I need more, only having 3TH inks doesn't to much for ideas in other colours! and hey my window workmen were fab! Honest, no stopping for tea and biscuits, not even for lunch! (and they cut the cat flap for me...for the cat that isn't mine)
    Have a crafty week

  16. Oh, this entry somehow eluded me .. shame. You're the one who holds the summer captive that refuses to show around here :-) Love these little treasures, such vivid and brilliant colors! It's an absolute pleasure to look at them.

  17. Love the colors on this - so pretty! The sentiment really echos the butterfly elements (or the other way around..). You are the distress King (next to Tim, of course).

  19. Mark, as the lucky recipient of the ATC I would like to say that it's even more stunning in reality. The colours and textural effects are just perfect. It was great to meet you, and your daughter, last weekend and I certainly wouldn't have thought that you'd only been crafting for such a short time. Thank you again for the ATC, it's much appreciated.
