Design Team - Gloria Sailor Jim Journal Page.

Morning all, I hope you all had a lovely weekend?
we are back to the start with our Design Team Members as today,
It's Gloria's turn to!

I'm back today with an art journal page I made using
the Sailor image from Spesh Ink.

I began with a loose sheet insert for my journal made of kraft card stock.
I inked up my new Skinner stamps and used them as my background.
To finish off the background, I added some distress oxides in black soot and
walnut stain. Splashed some water on it, and let it dry.

I colored the sailor using Copic markers, and then I fussy cut him out.
I decided to cut off his hat to see how he looked, and inspiration struck!

I started going through my stash of cogs and schtuff to see what I could
arrange spilling out of his head. I decided to keep it relatively simple with
only a few odds and ends. I used a couple colors and layers of embossing powder
to cover the previously hot pink arrow. I think it looks like turquoise now.

I added the word, 'journey' and used NuVo drops in black to color it,
and turquoise drops to dot the 'j'.

I used a chipboard piece for more interest, and some distress crayons
for some depth and contrast to finish it all off.

I am thrilled with how this guy turned out!
This would be a great image to use for any masculine themed card.

Stampendous SteamPunk Pen Pot and Graphic 45 Papers.

Morning all, and thank you as always for stopping by, I know the blog has been a bit slow but lots and lots has been going on, I need to find some time to write it up. You can always join me on Facebook to see more of whats going on xx.

Today I am sharing another make created for the latest Stampendous Catalogue for new products and this week over on the Stampendous Blog we are sharing the makes where we used the Paper Graphic 45 Generously supplied us. A Huge thank you to Graphic 45. xx

I have used:
Pen Pot
Copics, Cool colours and a deep blue.

I stamped the image with memento ink as I was going to add colour with alcohol markers.
I used the cool shades of the Copics for the Steam pumpkin image and left the cogs white and block filled the background a nice deep blue.

The image was cut to size and glued to the front of the pen pot. I used a fine grade sanding block and sanded at a 45 degree angle to get a nice smooth edge.

For the remaining sides I added the Graphic 45 paper and embossed the Swirl Flourish using the Verdigris Embossing powder.
The edges were again sanded and I used a black copic to give a nice clean black border around the paper.
The inside of the pot was also painted black for a clean look.

Thank you for stopping by. If you head over to the Stampendous blog this week you will find lots of new makes from our Dt using lots of the new releases xx.
