Vintage Circus Stencil and Paper Box Class

I have just put the finishing touches to a new class I'll be running at Daisy Jewels and Crafts in Coventry on the 30th July.
We will be using Andy Skinner's new stamps from Stampendous as well as lots of his Decoart media stencils and of course lots of paints and mediums from the Decoart Media Line to create this storage box that is big enough to store lots of 12" paper pads and stencils. But of course, you can keep what ever you like inside ;)

Class Schedule

30 July Daisy Jewels and Crafts Coventry
31 July Crafty Bunch Telford
1 October Pickwell Farm Southampton
19,20 November Ministry of Mixology Retreat with Andy Skinner and Brenda Brown and Me.

Experimenting with my new Stampendous Goodies

Afternoon, Today I am sharing more of an experiment/ playing post rather than a truly finished piece.
If you saw my Facebook post earlier in the week I received a wonderful package from Stampendous full of stamps embossing powders and more. More about that soon ;)
I had time for a quick play the other day nothing really in mind more just to get a feel of the new products.  I am loving the aged frantage embossing enamels.

The new elephant foam stamp grabbed my eye straight away as it put m in mind of the wood blocks that are used for fabric printing.

It's quite an impressive kit you get the Foam stamp, one side is patterned the other is a plain silhouette, you also get the Rubber stamp that can be stamped over the silhouette and a little stencil to finish things off.

I painted a piece of canvas board using Decoart Media Fluids and a light spray of their black Media Mister. I used the stencil and did some random background stamping using the Vintage Note stamp from stampendous.

Next I stamped using Decoarts chalk paint, I wanted to use this as a shadow effect.

I off set and over stamped using versamark ink and heat embossed the Aged Teal embossing enamel.

Still playing around I offset and over stamped again using Stazon ink and sprinkled some rose gold embossing powder randomly, I also edged the canvas board with the aged teal.

Playing with the same ideas I used an off cut of wood this time and Decoart Chalky Finish paints for the background, stamped first with Stazon ink and then offset with the aged spice powder. I did the same with the Decorative Borders stamps.
Im still not quite there with the correct colour combos of powders but i'm having fun and learning ;)

Finally I had a couple of bisque hanging ornaments.

The bisque was painted black and then triple embossed using the Verdigris powder. This powder is made up of several different colours and shades and once heat set you get a beautifully speckled finish.

For this one I triple embossed using the chunky copper powder and stamped into the final layer using Andy Skinners clock stamp.
I let it dry and filled in the recessed areas with the verdigris powder and gave it a final blast with the heat gun.

Thanks for stopping by. xx

World War Robot Square ;-)

So how's everyone doing?
Things are still busy here but I managed to finish a little project just for me.
This is my World War Robot Square.
WWR is a story created by artist Ashley Wood, Not your typical comic book artist, Go take  look ;-)
he created WWR and since its start he has bought out 1/6 and 1/12 scale models of his characters and robots. I have been collecting them over the last few years and recently bought Andy skinner one of the DIY robot Squares which Andy painted up at the CHA show earlier this year. You can find his Here.
I finally managed to pick one up for myself so I will apologize now for the picture heavy post but there are lots of sides and angles to capture ;-)

He started off looking a bit like this.

I have used lots of Decoart Media Fluids  to paint my Square starting with some dark blues and lots and lots of dry brushing lightening with each layer.
A little black Media Mister and then the edges were distressed.
Some Stenciling was added using Andy Skinners Industrial Elements and once finished He was given a coat of Satin Varnish.

Thanks for stopping by.
See you soon xx.

I would like to enter this into the Simon Say Stamp Monday challenge, their theme is 'Show Us Your Metal'   I have rusted my Robot x
