A few of the bloggers this week are new to hopping, so if you have an issue with any of the links, here's a little tip! If you get a page that says "Sorry that Page is not here" or something similar, try clicking on the header of the blog, or look for something that says Home.
Morning all, thanks for stopping by, as you can see there is something a little different going on today. With the launch of the new Decoart Media line the Decoart International DT are very pleased to be taking part in the week long blog hop held by Stampendous,we are also joined by Princeton Artist Brush Co.
Today is the last day of the hop, if you have missed out on the beginning of the week you really have missed out on some amazing creativity.
I am sharing a canvas this morning. Here are the Products I have used.
Using the Decoart modelling paste I gave some texture to the canvas leaving a central panel around a section of text tissue paper that was glued down.
Once the modelling paste had started to dry out I used the Circle image from Stampendous and stamped gently into the surface, I also used the circles stencil from their stamp set and applied more modelling paste.
Some Burlap was also pushed into the paste as were some half pearls. I added some of Stampedous's mica fragments to add even more texture. You can see a couple of them in the pic below. They add a beautiful flaky look. The edges were finished of with some texture sand.
After a coat of Gesso the colour was built up with washes. I am amazed at how little of the fluid acrylic is needed, One drop of each colour was needed to get the blue tones, using a wet brush I picked up a little colour and started to apply randomly mixing the shades together varying the intensity of colour.
The spots were painted carefully with white and the hand was added as the focal point.
To tidy everything up the edged of the canvas were painted black and the whole piece was given a coat of the satin varnish.
Thanks fo stopping by, Hopefully you have liked what you have seen and will be eager to get to the next blog.
Happy Hopping ;)
