Fun With ATC's - Movies

Hello again, Second post for me today.
We are starting our new challenge over at Fun With ATC's, the theme this fortnight is 'Classic Movies'
Head on over to see what the rest of the DT have created, and of course it would be great if you wanted to play along.x
The movie I have selected is my all time fave. It is The Crow.
For my ATC i found an image on the net and printed it out to ATC size, I then used a new product from Decoart called Americana Transfer Paper. They do it in black and white and basically it is like a carbon paper, you place a piece face down on the surface you want to transfer the image and then trace around the image with a pencil over the top. You are left with the out line on the ATC. I then used a fine paint brush and painted in the black using Decoart black acrylic paint.
For the stamping I used a quote and the Alphabet stamps from De Stemplewinkle's new Halloween 3 set
I stamped with embossing ink and used a fine white powder.
I love these stamps, When Jetske was putting together the new set she was asking the DT for some ideas and I suggested using some quotes from the movie and also bringing out the alphabet in the font that was used, it's called October Crow, Luckily they made it onto the plate along with a couple of other quotes and I am over the moon.
To finish off the ATC was given two coats of clear embossing powder.
I am quite pleased with how it turned out although I am sure the same effect could have been achieved just by printing the image out and not messing about with transfer paper and paint ;)
It sort of has a bill board poster look about it.
Thanks so much for stopping by, It means so much to have you here, sorry I have not been as active with my comments but I am getting round and seeing lots of amazing crafting.x
And if you feel like taking part in our challenge, we would love to see you over at Fun With ATC's x

PS, Just in case ATC's are new to you, I have just realised I have never given the dimensions etc of what they are.
They are a great  way of trying new techniques on a small scale, they measure 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches. They were originally designed to be traded amongst other artist/crafters and is a great fun thing to do.
You can use any material, most people just use craft card, I make all of my ATC's and Tags out of mount board as it is a sturdier surface and wont warp.

  1. I love this Mark! Quite scary (as no doubt the film is if you like it!!) but so full of atmosphere and it's only a small piece of art. Much more fun to paint it yourself and add the other elements too.

  3. Nice ATC...not sure about the transfer paper...sounds exactly like carbon paper!
At least by painting it you would have gotten some good dimension and texture (which you wouldnt have if you just printed it) so I think, yes, you definitely made the right decision paint it.....also, v. cool film.

  7. Very kool ATC, and it is a much bigger challenge to create art in that small area, I so admire those who do it, I love to see all the ATCs. How wonderful you had some input in the making of the stamps, not surprising though your work is top notch, thanks for sharing..
